Some Like It Hot

My latest culinary obsession? Sriracha, ay ay ay. I know I’m a little late to the game, as Sriracha has been making a scene amongst the masses for awhile now but I can’t help but rave about it now that I’ve finally jumped on the bandwagon. My roommate Marissa has had it in the apartment and after experimenting with it a little bit we came up with some delicious uses for this magical Thai hot sauce.

Yesterday we cut up some baked chicken and sautéed it in a frying pan with Sriracha, mmmm absolutely delicious! Marissa topped a green salad with it and it not only tasted great but it was also a really colorful dish, which I am all about. Food presentation (even if it’s just for me haha) is one of my favorite things about cooking.

I’ve been eating a lot of egg whites in preparation for Spring Break and those can get a little boring after awhile. Tonight for dinner I made my egg whites on the stove in a frying pan like I usually do but this time I cooked Sriracha into them, and put a little bit on my turkey bacon to taste, and it was a serious game changer! Might I have fallen in love with a condiment that’s not ketchup? It might be the case…

I’ve got big plans for Sriracha. I’m talking grilled chicken and quinoa, stir fry shrimp and rice noodles, definitely future egg dishes, and I could work with some dipping sauces, the possibilities are endless and wonderfully spicy!

And so concludes my love confession for Sriracha. Be sure to check back for Sriracha accompanied recipes after I do a little more experimenting in the kitchen!! I would love to hear some Sriracha combos that y’all have tried and loved as well!

xx
